The 100%-owned Moorefield Project comprises 2 exploration licenses covering 482km2 in a geological setting considered prospective for vein-hosted gold and skarn-related base metal mineralisation in the Ordovician Girilambone Group and VHMS base metal (± gold) mineralisation in Siluro-Devonian volcanic and sedimentary rocks.

An aeromagnetic survey by Magmatic has outlined a 15km gold trend running from north of the Boxdale to south of Carlisle Reefs targets and beyond.

Boxdale-Carlisle Reefs Trend

Carlisle Reefs is a historic goldfield dating from the 1930s with more than 100 mine workings covering an 800 x 800m area.

Magmatic has completed two RC drilling programmes at Carlisle Reefs and defined several near surface gold zones, which remain open at depth and along strike. Best drill hole intercepts include:

  • 9m at 2.18g/t Au
  • 30m at 1.60g/t Au
  • 36m at 1.21g/t Au

Previous significant RC drill results at Boxdale include:

  • 19m at 1.28g/t Au.
  • 15m at 1.0g/t Au

There has been no previous drilling along the trend between Carlisle and Boxdale.

Other Moorefield Targets

The Moorefield and Pattons prospects are VHMS-style copper-gold magnetic and geochemical anomalies respectively. The Ghost Hill prospect is a sulphide-rich skarn with limited drilling completed, returning a significant intersection of 6m at 1.3g/t Au, 0.13% Pb and 0.15% Zn.
